DEFINITIONS:

abortion clinic: a medical facility that provides abortions. An abortion clinic may be a public medical center, private medical practice or nonprofit organization.

abortion fund: an organization that helps move financial and logistical barriers for those who need assistance paying for abortion care. In addition to covering the cost of the procedure itself, some funds may help cover other logistical costs, such as transportation, lodging, and childcare.

ABOUT FAKE CLINICS

Sometimes called pregnancy resource centers or crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs), fake clinics do NOT provide comprehensive reproductive health care. Instead, they use phony ads to trick pregnant people into making an appointment, promising “free ultrasounds” or “pregnancy support.” Once inside, people are lied to, shamed, and pressured about their reproductive health decisions, often delaying their procedure or pushing them past the deadline for a legal abortion altogether.

There are 4 fake abortion clinics for every real abortion clinic in the US.

Fake clinics are designed to be deceptive. They often set up shop right next to real clinics. One good tip off: if ads or flyers emphasize how dangerous abortion can be, it's probably a fake clinic. If a website has "abortion information" but nothing about ACTUAL abortion services they provide, it's probably a fake clinic. If you call to ask for an abortion, and they won't talk to you about abortion over the phone and instead urge you to come in... it's probably a fake clinic.
